Dear Ann,

Many thanks for your response to my message and I am sorry it took so long to reply.

Yes, Rev. John Haydon Cardew and Anne Pollet are my 4x great grandparents (they married in Penryn in Cornwall where John was curate).

They had actually 15 children, 10 sons and 5 daughters.

Pollet was the youngest but one being born on the 18th September 1817 (probably at Curry Mallet in Somerset). The only other information I have on him is the following:

He was christened 11th January 1818 at Curry Mallet, Somerset where his father was now vicar (until his death in 1853).

Pollet married Louisa Mary Lucas in 1851 and had 8 children (not known).

He married a second time (to his nurse?) and his wife gave birth to twins.

He emigrated to Australia and was en route on the 29th May 1852 (mentioned in a letter).

He died on the 15th August 1882.

Best wishes
