Hello,
I have been working on my family tree for years and I haven't gotten past my grandmother's parents. I have an Great Uncle that is still living who could tell me his parents names and where exactly they came from. I just don't know his exact address. I will tell you what I know about them.

My Great-grandmother is Fermina Pomales and her husband my Great-grandfather is Juan Rios. My Aunt's and Uncles never met their grandmother. So I talked to my mom's cousin and she too never met her Grandmother. Everyone says that Great-Grandma Fermina was blanca, ojos azules y rubia de Canaria, Espana. They say that Great-Grandpa Juan was Taino, pelo lasio y Negro and que tenia un bigote largo con rizitos en la punta.
Some say that grandma's familia was from Comerio some say de Guaraguao, Bayamon because Tio Cango(the only son of theirs that is still living) always said that the a lot of
the family lived in Guaraguao and had parcelas. I guess that means small gardens.

Fermina Pomales and Juan Rios had 5 children. Mom's Cousin told her that Juan Rios died around 1955 or 1956 at age 108. That really sounds way off. But I am writing what she said. He is buried in the new cementary in Rio
Piedras (La Capital). She was using the age of her daughter to get the year. At the time her daughter was 2 or 2 1/2 years old. Mom's cousin also told her that he lived on la Calle Espana en Cantera. Sorry no idea where's
that is. She said you just take the bus to Cantera and find la Calle Espana. (back then she meant).

Fermina Pomales and Juan Rios children are: Petrona (aka Juana) Rios Pomales born on April 8, 1908 or May 8, 1908 (died in Jersey City, NJ on Feb. 12, 1983, Julio (aka Buyon) Rios Pomales(died around 1961 or 1962,
Candido (aka Cango) Rios Pomales (only one living in San Jose, Rio Piedras, PR), Julia Rios Pomales(died on March 30, 1984 and Felipa (aka Fela, Felicita, La Artista) Rios Pomales born on 18 Nov or 18 Dec 1918 died on March 5, 1985. Tia Julia and Tia Fela are in the old cementery in Rio
Piedras.

Does your family know anything about this family. Do they know my great-uncle Cango who lives in Rio Piedras? I have written many letters to him but they come back because I need a street. I ask my mom's cousin to get it for me but she just tells me that he is still living and that he
lives in San Jose, Rio Piedras. I just want to ask him about his parents. Ask him what were their other last name and to tell me about any other
relatives, if there are any.

I can't even use my mom's or her sibling birth certificates to try to get my grandmother because my grandmother signed their birth certificates with her nick name. Any input you could give me I would Really appreciate.

I just found out that my grandfather's only living sister just died last week. Never got to ask her about Grandpa (Juana's husband) he died when mom was 9 years old. And as far as I know there is only a 3rd or 4th cousin still living on grandpa's side.

I live in Florida other wise I would go and try to find my great uncle who is probably 90 years old now. You probably won't know this family but I thank you in advance.

Sincerely, Noemi
