Peter Pond Society, Milford, CT

Hi:
I have recently joined and notice numerous postings on the Milford, CT explorer/trader Peter Pond (1740-1807). I suggest many questions may be answered by consulting my website:
www.peterpondsociety.com.
I hope no one thinks I am posting this for commercial gain since the website is strictly a labor of love venture.
For the record, responding to 2 main inquiries:
1. Peter had 2 "official" children: Peter and Elizabeth, both married into Durand family of Milford. Peter Jr. died at sea without issue; Elizabeth married John Durand and they had 10 children. So his bloodline goes down thru the Durands. NB: there is also evidence he fostered some half-breed children thru dealing with Indians during his fur trade years in Canada where he is better known and several monuments and a lake exist for him.
2. The search continues for PP's grave in Milford. We know where his mother is buried but no known headstone exists for him.
Our interest in PP is based on the theory that without him there probably would not have been a Lewis and Clark expedition. See supporting text and links in website. Thanks.
