A biography/family history of Robert E. Pond is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 2.

Robert was born 26 Jul 1884, to Warner J. & Anna (Eager) Pond. Warner was born 1838, Granville, OH, and died there in 1914. Anna was born 1848, Alexandria, OH. Was living in Santa Barbara, CA, after the death of Warner. Children: Henry W., Chicago; Robert E.

Robert E. Pond graduated from Granville HS in 1901; attended Dennison University in Granville for two years; took a two-year course at the Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1906.

In 1906, he was employed as a civil engineer with the Pennsylvania Railroad, Pittsburgh, PA. 1910, located to Chicago and was in the advertising businesss. 1915, Chicago, salesman for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. 1919, to Denver, CO, in charge of service dept. of company; Nov 1919, to Butte MT as manager of Butte branch of the company.

On 9 Jan 1913, Chicago, Robert married Miss Josephine L. Dolman, daughter of William L. and Armildia (Dunkle) Dolman of Pasadena, CA. Pond children: Jane Elizabeth, b. 1915, IL; Barbara Dolman, b. 1917, IL; Joan A., b. ca 1923, CA; William W., b. ca 1824, CA.

In the 1930 Federal Census, Robert and family were living in Pasadena, CA.

Josephine Lucille Pond, died 5 Dec 1983, Alamed, CA
