Do you have any information on Maria A. B. Pons who married John Seymour Pickett? I Can't find a marriage record in the Catholic records for them or in "The People of East Florida During the Revolutionary War - War of 1812". Maria tried to get a widdows pension, as Seymour Pickett fought in the War of 1812, but, it wasn't approved. The paper was in such condition as unreadable they said. She had two wittnesses that acknowledged that she was the wife of John Seymour Pickett, but it was still not approved. Seymour Pickett was previously married to Rebecca Collier who drowned, and they had one daughter named Rebecca. I will post the family below:
1. Juan Pons b. 1761, Villa de Mahon, isla de Menorca, (son of Antonio Pons and Magdalena Cardona) occupation Farmer of Minorca, m. 10-DEC-1787, in St. Augustine, St. Johns Co., FL, Juana Catherine Andreu, b. 09-JUL-1772, New Smyrna or colony of "Les Mesqites", (daughter of Antonio Andreu and Catalina Maria Oliveros) buried: St. Johns County, Fl. Juan died c1810, St. Augustine, St. Johns Co, FL, buried: St. Johns County, St. Augustine, Fl.
2. Maria (Mary)A. B. Pons b. 26-JUL-1791, St. Johns County, St. Augustine, Fl, m. 1804 1809-14), in Nassau County or St. Johns County, Fl?, 22-Mar-1798, John Seymour Pickett, II, b. 1774, Virginia, (son of John Seymour Pickett I and Hannah Withers) occupation Seminole War Vetran, d. 1847 or 1848, Pickettville, Duval Co., Fl, buried: Plummer Cemetery, Duval County. Maria died after 1848, Duval County, Fl, buried: Plummer Cemetery, Duval County. She can't be found after her application for Seymour's war pension. She could have gone to live with her son in Gadsden Co., FL, remarried or died, or lived with another one of her children. The 1790 St. John Co., FL Census has her listed as the daughter of Antonio Pons, & his father was Francisco Pons, or may have been Matias Pons of Minorca.
