Not many in USA or Canada phone books

I just looked up this name in the phone books of USA and Canada. There are 12 in the USA and 5 in Canada.

Unless each of these families has 100's of members, perhaps a conference phone call would let you find out all about each other. Then you could rent a hotel meeting room and have a reunion.

I came across one person by this name in Canada about 10 years ago. All the Canadian ones seem to live in Ontario.

Does anyone (about to post) here know the origin of this rather unsual name ? From the appearance of it, it seems to be perhaps Italian or Spanish for "broken bridge".
