Hi Mary, Thanks for the informative note! The names I am looking for are Lynn/Linn, Sovereigns/Severns, Clinkenbeard, and poss Mooney, these would have been people either taken or killed before the Rev War. I have a few lines from a Baltimore news paper on the Lynn's and know that Hannah Sovereigns received land for the losses suffered and her fathers service (Death) in the French Indian wars. It is said she was released to Bouquet. Her brother John Severns escaped, how ever other Severns did not return. John later made contact with his brothers children in IN. Clinkenbeard married a Lynn and the family was also related to the Mooney's. Two of William Lynn's daughters were taken during the Rev War from a fort in KY and I only know of one that was returned to live out her life in MO.

One source I found list only those returned to the Fort Pit. The captives released to western MD and VA are not on that list. Even though sources state the Linns were in and out of Fort Pitt they lived in Western MD, for awhile near Cresap's place in Old Town MD.

I did write the Archives in Canada due to a reference found in the PA Colonial Records Vol 1. Waiting to hear from them. Thanks for your interest! Beth
