Not speaking English helped to at least pick him out by nationality from other the captives. Proven it would be hard as there were others taken that spoke German too. I think our Hannah Sovereigns/Soverns/Severns and her brother John spoke English and were old enough to remember. Their father William was killed at the time they were taken. The list I am in hopes of locating would have Hannah on it as her brother John escaped. There were others from this family that stayed with the indians. Thanks for sharing this with me. Beth
