Been at the DAR Library and picked up this source: "Early American Indian Documents: Treaties and Laws 1607-1789, general edition Alden T. Vaughan Vol VI Maryland Treaties, 1632-1775". Need to check out IV which is VA, and PA. in VI I found the following list pg 619; "The Governor rose and went to the Place where the English Prisoners sat and received them one by one, from the Hands of King Beaver, and here follow their Names: Thomas Moore, taken from Potowmack, MD; Philip Studebecker, taken from Conegocheague, MD; Ann Dougherty, taken from PA; Peter Condon, taken from PN; Mary Stroudman, Taken from, Conegocheague, PN; (the Conegocheague creek runs in both states PN and MD), William Jackson, taken from Tulpehocken, PN; Elizabeth Mc Adam, taken from Little Cove, PN; John Lloyd, taken from Little Cove, PN; Eleanor Lancestoctes, taken fronm PN; Dorothy Shobrin, taken from Big Cove, PN; Richard Rogers, taken from VA; Esther Rogers, taken from VA; Jacob Rogers, taken from South Branch, VA; Archibald Woods, taken from VA; Christopher Holtomen, taken from VA; Rebecca Walter, taken from VA; Hans Bayer, a Boy, not known from whence.
Also noted that the diary of George Washington contains early settler names. The papers of Sir William Johnson (1715-1774) 14 vols would I believe have names of captives. Have not seen them yet.
Step on is where to find stuff... Never thought of Law books. Beth
