Bev, it has been another year since we posted messages about my Peter Poorman, Blacksmith, born ca 1747 who lived in Youngstown, Unity Twp, Westmoreland Co, PA, wife Elizabeth (Werner) b ab 1750.

This Peter died after 14 Jun 1817 but before 29 May 1820. I think that the land that his son Jacob Poorman put up for sale (including a blacksmith shop)in 1816 was probably the land that Peter b 1747 deeded to Jacob in 1815.

This Poorman family (many of them) came to Westmoreland after the time of the death of Peter Poorman, Senior b 1717 of Lancaster/Dauphin Co, PA. A daughter of Peter, was Elizabeth b abt 1770, She married John Bossart/Buzzard in Franklin Co. about 1790/1800. By 1803 John Bossart and Elizabeth Poorman had removed from Franklin Co, to Westmoreland Co. I think Peter probably came with them.

So, I am looking at Franklin Co. records and any proofs of the children of Peter (Jr.) as being born in Lancaster or Franklin Co. before 1800.

I dug out my old box of Poorman stuff and found your computer disk and the copy of Glenn's paper that you sent to me about 15 or 20 years ago. I will study them.

I have a record of birth for Daniel Poorman b 14 Feb 1769 in West Donegal Twp, Lancster Bapt 10 Apr 1769 at Blaser Ref Ch, Lancaster Co, pA he married about 1795 to Elizabeth Neff, dau of John Jacob Neff. This Daniel was definitely the son of Peter, Jr and Elizabeth Werner. I believe he is also the Daniel of WestmorelandCo, PA Deed book 1823-1839 mis deede of Neffs and Daniel and Elizabeth Neff Poorman, 1845, Daniel of Derry Twp and Elizabeth deed to son Peter b 1798 . Daniel is on the 1820, 1830, 1840 Census of Westmoreland, Derry Twp.

Please help me with some proof that the Peter Poorman who was a Rev War Soldier in Londonderry Twp, Lancaster Co, PA was the same as Peter Jr. of Lancaster, and Peter Jr. of Franklin, and Peter (Sr & Blacksmith) of Unity, Westmoreland ?

If I remember right, your ancestor was a son of Peter Sr. who removed to Franklin Co ?
