My brother was doing a geneology search on the Poorman name many years ago - before the advent of websites such as these - and I remember he had found the name of George Washington Poorman and Sarah Pancake, supposedly our great-great-great grandparents. When I was a Navy Hospital Corpsman serving on the Hospital Ship USS SANCTUARY in Viet Nam in 1968, one of the wounded U.S. Marines that was transferred aboard was a guy named Pancake from Pennsylvania (sorry I can't remember his first name or where he was from in PA). I would love to learn more of this union and how it relates to my heritage.

Anyone with knowlege of this union can contact me at don.poorman@verizon.net
