re-posting this as I have a new e-mail address
seek info on Cosmos POORMAN, my gr.-gr. grandfather, born Oct.
14,1850,Dauphin Co.,Palmyra, Pa .Married
Emma STUCKEY. Emma was killed from a fall from a hay rake while
pregnant with their third child on Nov. 8,1878 at age 24. In Jan. 1884
Cosmos
left his two sons ,John Cosmos and William Stuckey with his parents,
John
and Leah POORMAN of Palmyra, Pa and headed West for the gold rush
making stops in Kansas; California: Fulton, Missouri where he visited
friends
of his family (the Shifflers) and was headed for Alaska. Family lost
contact
with Cosmos and after the death of Cosmos's parents in April 1902 , a
notice
was placed in the local paper for any one with info on Cosmos Poorman to
step forward .Unanswered, Cosmos was declared dead in 1903 by the
Lebanon
County Court to settle the estate of his parents for his two grown sons.
What
happened to Cosmos? When and where did he die? A search of Alaska came
up empty. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks! Bev
