Porras Family; 12/8/99; Houston, Texas

I was born in Dallas, Tx on 8-17-53, the 1st child of 2 girls, born to Silverio Porras Jr & Esther Bonilla Porras. My sister Janie (Juanita Ana)was born 2-11-55.

My dad Silverio, was born in Houston, Tx to Silverio & Juanita Jimeniz (not sure of spelling). I believe he had 2 older sisters. Juanita J. Porras died when Silverio Jr. was very young. Silverio Sr. remarried a woman with some children. He had a fair complexion, & spoke several languages. Silverio Jr's step-mom & he did not get along. He ended up living with different relatives, from house to house, sometimes in the streets. He married a woman & had 2 children by her. A boy and a girl. The boy's name was Ruben & the girl Annie. They divorced, then Silverio Jr. remarried my mom Maria Esther Bonilla from Dallas

My dad, Silverio Jr. died 8-20-93 in Dallas of lymphoma at the age of 67. My mom refuses to acknowledge that my dad was married once before, much less that I have a half brother & a half sister somewhere. I would very much like to hear from Ruben & Annie. It's possible that they did not keep the Porras name. I don't believe Silverio Jr remained connected to his 2 older children. However, I would love to meet them, at least once.

I don't want to be intrusive or bring up bad memories, I just need to meet my half brother & sister. I feel like there's a little hole in my heart & would like to feel complete. I would love to be a part of their lives if they choose, however, if they don't care to, I will understand. I would be willing to meet for lunch, etc. whatever would make them most comfortable.

Please let me hear from anyone who has personal knowledge about any Porras' from the Houston area.
