Hi Cousin Catherine....I thought that was you...I went over my papers last night...first...I will use snail mail and mail you copies of what I have on my Family Tree...#2 I have a copy of Thomas Clarke Porteous' Civil War letter...it is fascinating..I found a notice in a back issue of the New Orleans'Genesis in the Vicksburg,MS library about Aunt Dolly's papers being in the Hill Memorial Library...so I called them...the lady was extremely nice...she suggested that I buy a copy of the inventory, which I did...all 41 pages...I suggest you do too...their rates are cheap 50 cents per page and $5.00 mail fee...so I then purchased selected items...LSU always replies..."staff small, time limited, can not do indepth searches"...so I order only a few copies and give the inventory numbers...I did get some certificates...some are in French...I need to translate..I am backed up on my French and S..panish translations...I know French...Spanish no but use a dictionary..slow going...I while back I had gotten Thomas Clarke's Civil War records from the Archives...I can copy for you....will also check where people are buried...my mother and father are also buried with Thomas Clarke Porteous...I no longer live in New Orleans..will post message with the Hill Library info tomorrow so you could call the lady Friday if you want to..I really would want copies of all...but would cost a fortune..change to my [email protected]
