I have a John Porteous m Mary Hickey (both b. c. 1808 Ireland). In 1851 he was a brass founder in Manchester/ Salford, co. Lancashire, England.

Children (all baptised Manchester):
William, b. Manchester, 1834, died soon after?
John, b. c.1835-1836, Salford, brass founder in 1851
William b. 1837, Salford, plumber in 1851
Isabella, b. 1839, Salford, scholar in 1851

Isabella and John (jr.?) were godparents in 1856 to Mary daughter of William Hickey and Jane (nee Doherty/ Dogherty).

Has anyone found any trace of these Porteous faily members elsewhere?
