Porterfields in/near Chester County, PA

Rebecca (Alexander) Emmitt's will was probated in Chester County, Pennsylvania in 1792. In the will she specifically named:
(1) To nephew William Porterfield and his sister Martha 28.2.6 each - children of my nephew Josiah Porterfield.
(2) To nieces Rachel and Mary, daughters of William Porterfield, 5 each.
(3) To Josiah Porterfield 6.5.

This sounds to me as though Rebecca Alexander had a sister who had married William Porterfield. The sister is not mentioned in the will presumably because she had already died.

Rebecca also mentioned in her will Mary Mehaffey, wife of Joseph, and assorted nephews and nieces with the surname Alexander - children of her brothers.

Can anyone throw some light on this family and tell me who Rebecca's sister might have been - what Alexander woman married a Porterfield? This Alexander family was also associated with Cecil County, Maryland - and perhaps even New Castle County, Delaware and Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
