Hello Fran, my name is Mary and I wonder if your Oliver King Porterfield could have been the Henry Porterfield that I am looking for. I know his home was in Red River County, Texas. At least that is where his mother and family lived in about 1920 and 1921 the period I am speaking of. He went to Wortham, Texas and married my mother and they had a little girl. (My mother did not know that he was married and had a family. She did not know this until after he had run off and left her in the family way with their daughter.)
He never knew that he had this daughter born Nov.15, 1921. My mother met my father in 1923 and they were married and I was their first child. My sister and I have always been course about her Dad. If you know anything about this Henry Porterfield I sure would appreciate it if you would let me know. God Bless
