Fran,
I have found your Oliver King Porterfield in the Porterfield book.

b. 1877 M. 1907 to Amy LIndsey

daughters: Dorothy, b. 1908 m. Ray A. Phelps, eletrical engineer of Washington DC

Janice Porterfield b. 1910 m . George Apgar

Olive Portefield b. 1912

Amy Porterfield b. 1912

does not give a death date or say what happened. Book published in 1947.

His neice is Ethel Portefield Kuehl b. 1908. She is still living here in the Waco area. I have met her at family reunions a few years ago.

I will ask my great-aunt Robbie Porterfield Kirk if she has ever heard anything.
