Carrilaine,

How wonderful! Your father knew my grandfather, Ernest C. "Buddy" Porterfield. He was involved in the beginnings of the Cen-Tex Zoo from the late 1950s through 1964. I am saddened to tell you he passed away Jan. 8. He was a wonderful man. I typed Porterfield into the computer and came up with this website and I am so elated that someone had actually mentioned him on here. I'm sure you have great memories of the zoo. I"m also certain he would have remembered your father. I recall him mentioning this story too. He had a sharp mind and never forgot a face.

Please correspond.
