I have a copy of this obituary that has some information for you. I hope I'm not too late to help with the assignment! This isn't my branch, but the Terry listed is frequently confused with my brother, who lives in the same general area!

PORTERFIELD, Betty Jo, 60, of 1C Blenna Court, Dublin, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2000 at her home. Born July 31, 1939 in Pulaski, Virginia, she is the daughter of John Peyton Porterfield and the late Rose Zetta (Rosie) Turner Porterfield. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Wayne Porterfield and niece, Debra Lynn Flinchum. She attended the Dublin Church of God. She is survived by her father, John Peyton Porterfield, Dublin; three sisters, Mrs. Noel (Connie) Flinchum, Salem, Mrs. David (Willie) Brooks, Roanoke, Judy Robinson, Dublin; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John Harrison Porterfield and Pauline Porterfield, Dublin, Terry Lee and Patty Porterfield, Dublin; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday 2 p.m. at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Pastor Michael Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be anytime after 2 p.m. Friday afternoon with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski. Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski is in charge of the arrangements.
