Porterfield who lost leg in Battle of Waterloo

Does this ring a bell in anyone's family history? My great-great grandfather Porterfield (I don't have his first name) lost his leg in the Battle of Waterloo. He was attending Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland when he was taken out to be in the British Army. This was around 1815. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'd love to hear from you. His son Robert came to Canada and married Mary Tweedy, also from Ireland.
