PORTERFIELD in early Chester Co., PA

I came across this will from early Chester County, Pennsylvania wills and thought the information might help some. I know nothing further about this family. I was interested in the Porterfield connection – but it’s the wrong Porterfield.

James MOORE of New London, Chester County, Pennsylvania
Will written 9 Jun 1763       Will proved 29 Nov 1763

To Elizabeth CARTER £20.
To James MOORE, son of my son John £50.
To Catharine MOORE, daughter of son John £10 when of age.
To son William [MOORE] two sons: James and Samuel £10 each.
To my son by the law, John MOORE’S six children viz: James, Alexander, John, Henry, Elizabeth and Martha £10 when of age.
To Mathew PORTERFIELD’S children viz: James, Denney, Nelly and Elizabeth PORTERFIELD £10 each when of age.
To son John MOORE £30.
To son William MOORE £20.
To daughter, Elizabeth £40.
To daughter, Martha PORTERFIELD £20.
Remainder to be divided among my two sons and two daughters.
Executors: David Wiley and John Scott
Witnesses: Joseph Cook and Peter Gubby
