The Captain Porterfield you are referring to would almost certainly be Charles. He served in the 11th and was commissioned as a captain in January 1777. Robert was a 2nd Lieutenant in the 11th, but transferred to the 7th before making captain. I do not believe James was a sibling to Charles or Robert, although they had an uncle by that name living in North Carolina. They had two sisters, Rebecca and Eleanor. The only known Captain Porterfield to serve in the 11th was Charles. I hope this helps.
