I did check out the book re Alexanders in mostly Scotland . . . .the John Alexanders with wives named Susannah were way too early or too late to be the same one who appeared in Chester County, Pennsylvania by about 1730.
I did find the interesting one about the line from Donegal to America . . . and eventually to Augusta County, Virginia. It was disappointing that one son, Robert, was mentioned having settled in Augusta before his older brother but then it gives no information at all about Robert's line!
I know it's not mine but still, it would be nice to have that noted.
About digitized books . . . and records: a subscription to NEHGS and to Footnote.com are well worth the price! They are putting so many original records and manuscripts online. Pretty soon we really won't have to leave home to do some excellent research!
