I am a Porterfield in Michigan, USA, descended from John Porterfield who emigrated from Ireland to Ontario (Canada)sometime in the mid 19th century. While I am not so sure this information helps you, I am curious about your comment of having good well known old porterfield history.

If you have information about Porterfileds in Ireland from 1850 and prior, I would be very appreciative if you could share your sources and/or information.

Thank you.
