Gillian,
Am researching the Portsmouth family based around Hammersmith/Fulham from mid 1890's,and before that around Isleworth/Hounslow,where records show residence,and employment as Market Gardner/Basket maker.Have only made tenuous links to one George b1805,no reference to any Ann,but plenty of "Johns" back to 1710!
