My ggrndmother is Elizabeth Postlethwaite, b 3/23/1824 Livingston Co Ky, m Wm Washington Brown b 4/11/1819, Livingston Co, son of David B Brown(1782-1843), 1800 settler of Livingston Co. Elizabeth is one of 10 children, all born in Livingston Co < 1842, of Richard Postlethwaite, Jr. b 3/1/1786 and Rachel Walbert m 10/22/1812 in Livingston Co KY. Father: Richard Postlethwaite, b 1746 in Lancaster Co PA, youngest son of John Postlethwaite (1686-1749) original immigrant from Millom, Cumberland England. John's original house is in Millersville PA. Richard Sr fought in the Rev. War, became a methodist minister, pioneered from SC to KY. 1810 census has him in Adair Co KY. By 1811 was in Livingston Co, where he died in 1815. Richard Jr fought in the war of 1812. Richard Jr and wife eventually ended up in Benton Co Iowa. Richard Jr died 1860, wife, 1850.
