Hello,
My name is Bill Posthumus and live in Vancouver, Canada. I was born here in 1966. My father moved here from Brandon,Manitoba in 1962. He was born in Rapid City, Sask. in 1936. He has 5 brothers including a twin and 2 sisters. Their names are Frank,Fredrick,Mattias,Keith,Wayne,Mona and Gertrud. They were all born in the Canadian prairie. 3 of the brothers live in Vancouver, 1 lives in Carberry, Manitoba and 1 brother lives in Tilsonburg, Ontario were 1 of the sisters also lives, the other sister lives in Edmonton,Alberta. Their Father(my Grandfather) came to canada in the early 1920's from Holland. His name was Fredrick and he was born in 1911 in Freisen. He passed away in Vancouver in 1994. As far as I know he had some brothers that also came to Canada. I don't know exactly how many but I know of 3 for sure. I think they lived in Winnepeg, Manitoba. One of my grandfathers brothers fought in World War 2 with the Canadian Army and was quite the war hero. He won many decorations for valour while fighting in Italy, Normandy and the liberation of Holland. He was involved in the initial D-Day landings in Normandy. He recently passed away in Winnepeg. As far as I know there are over 100 relatives living in Canada that came from my Grandfather and his siblings. The latest one is my son who was born April 23,2001 his name is Nathan Posthumus. I am very interested in finding out more of our family's and our names history. Please get back to me with any information available.
