I'm a Posthumus! It was my maiden name, and I still use it for business purposes. My grandfather came from Friesland in the Netherlands, and I've visited what is supposed to have been his home town there, Dronrijp, near Leeuwarden. Posthumus is a fairly common name in Friesland, and seems to go back many centuries, from what my Aunt Margaret found in doing some research years back. My grandfather came to New Jersey with his parents and brothers and settled in Passaic, NJ, eventually having a small dairy there. There seem to have been quite a few Posthumuses setttling in the Dutch areas of Michigan, as well. Let me know if you're interested in any other info I can find.
