Peter Potten - Lamberhurst of Burwash?

Thank you for visiting my Potten website at

I am aware of your Peter Potten from Lamberhurst and think he may be one and the same as Peter Potten Christened 3 June 1798 in Burwash, the son of Neri Potten and Elizabeth Thompson. I cannot find out what happened to Burwash Peter and maybe he moved a few miles north to Lamberhurst. Unfortunately I cannot definitely prove it. More encouragingly, after a number of years searching for Pottens, nothing has come forward to disprove it either. If your Peter did originate from Burwash, then you will be able to trace your ancestors back through the Potten line to approx 1550.
