Dear Ralph, You may want to scroll past our Whitakers to our Poulsons.
Anyway, here I am at last researching my Poulson cousins.

I am curious to know all I can possibly get to know about your ancestor (my 8th g-aunt) Anne Empson m. Cornelius Poulson; daughter of James & Rebecca Empson and sister of my 7ggm Elizabeth Empson Whitaker Taylor.

This norning while copying some info from "Baltimore County Families, 1659-1759" by Robert W. Barnes on 8ggm Rebecca Empson Cobb Hawkins' daughter Annw Empson Poulson's family I found some Poulsons (servants of the Day Family) which induced me to take another look at Nicholas Day (d. 1704) for some cross-reference. (see my Empson & Whitaker postings)

Poulson, Cornelius (1), was in MD. by Feb. 1717 when he wit. the will of John Hitchcock; m. Ann Empson on 23 Dec. 1720, dau. of James and Rebecca Empson; in July 1757 Cornelius and Ann, formerly of Balto., now of Frederick Co. conv. 100 a. Elberton (which descended to Ann Poulson as a dau. of James Empson; had iss.; Elizabeth, b. 6 Jan 1720/1; Rebecca, b. 5 Oct. 1724; Andrew, b. 18 Feb. 1734 (sic) (83:22; 123:129; 128:41; 129:226).

Poulson, Andrew (2), s. of Cornelius (1) & Ann Empson, was b. 18 Feb. 1734; d. 1807 in Frederick Co., MD; m. by 27 Nov. 1758 Prudence, dau. of John Evans (5:237).

Robert W. Barnes didn't list the parents of the following:

Poulson, Elizabeth, was tried for bast. in June 1730 (28:421).

Poulson, Elizabeth, was exempt from the levy in June 1737 (31:49).

Poulson, Francis, in March 1757 conv. to William Dallam 83 a. Polson's Lot and part My Lady's Manor (82:648).

jwdw note: Charles Baker, d. by May 1739; admin. bond posted 11 May 1739 by Maurice Baker (son or bro.?), and Jacob Bull with William Dallam and Peter Carroll.

Bond, John, d. by 8 June 1759; admin. bond posted 4 April 1739 by admnx. Isabella Bond, with Benjamin Bond and Charles Baker; est. inv. on 8 June 1739 by William Dall and William Bradford. John Bond was kinsman of William & Thomas Bond involved with the will & estate of elder John Whitaker.

Poulson, Hannah, serv. to Edward Day, was tried for bast. in June 1743; ind. and tried again in Nov. 1745; as a serv. to Avarilla Day was tried for bast. in March 1746/7; had iss.: Joseph (34:203; 35:734, 748; 36:417).

Poulson, John, age 13, s. of Elizabeth Poulson; formerlyy bd. to Nicholas Day, (Jr.); in June 1739 was bd. to Elizabeth Day (32:403).

Poulson, Joseph, m. Frances Allen in 1739, and had iss.: Nathaniel, b. 29 Apr. 1740; Joseph, b. 2 Aug. 1748 (131).

Poulson, Rebecca, was ind. for bast. in Aug. 1742 and tried in Nov. 1742; ind. for bast. again in March 1750/1 (34:1, 73;38:270).

Any information regarding your Poulson ancestors of Baltimore would be "greatfully" appreciated. Thanks. Best regards, Jim (
