Rachel Poulson LEARD (1828-1877) ?>KS

We have a Rachel Poulson LEARD listed as the daughter of Michael LEARD and his wife, Anna, born 30 October 1796; d. 16 May 1877. Could Anna have been a POULSON?

Rachel Poulson LEARD, born 12 November 1828 (according to Bible) in Virginia (according to census) and died 11 October 1877 in Paola, Miami Co, Kansas (according to cemetery records). Rachel married 16 October 1856 (according to Bible) place unknown to Arnold WALDON of McLean Co, Illinois.

We have been unable to find the LEARD family on census records and I am making a "grasp at straws" trying to find where the family came from. Can anyone help me?
