Problem with Asel Poulson

Asel Poulson (Polson) if you will look in the census records of Marshall County, Virginia ( West Virginia) 1850 and People of color 1840 you will find that Asel Poulson was an Indian. It is stated at the bottom of the 1850 census. When his children moved out of the area they changed there color. So they could blend in better and not be held back. That is why you have a problem getting anywhere with that line. I think I have found him or his son listed on one of the rolls. I am workin on it. If I find anything out for sure. I will let you know. Your Friend, Lori Godfrey. 7th Great grandaughter to Asel.
