I am a descendant of James and Elizabeth Poulton on my mother's side. My grandfather was Robert Leslie Poulton, son of James Edward Poulton and Elizabeth Spinks. James Edward Poulton was the son of Edward Poulton and Johanna Butler, and Edward was the eldest son of the James and Elizabeth Poulton to whom you refer in you message.

James and Elizabeth Poulton (nee Elizabeth Palmer) arrived in Australia on the ship "Mary Ann" on 19 Mar 1857 with their children Edward (13), Sydney (12), Morgan J.(11), Joseph (10), Ellen E. (7) and Thomas W. (1). Children born in Australia were Arthur (abt 1858), Mary A. (abt 1860) and Alice E. (abt 1865). James Poulton died on 22 May 1893 and his wife Elizabeth on 1 Apr 1883.

If you contact me, I can provide more details if required.

Perhaps you can help me find out what happened to my grandfather, Robert Leslie Poulton. None of my family know (he was divorced from his wife Florence May Burston in about 1940, and was not sighted thereafter by the family. If by chance you are a descendant of his brother Leonard Edward Poulton, perhaps you may have the answer. Robert's death appears not to be registered in NSW, but he may have gone interstate.
