According to our family history, there was a James Andrew Pouncey, the son of James and Mary Pledger Pouncey (who died in childbirth while giving borth to James Andrew on Nov. 16, 1821). James Andrew married a Miss Hart in 1844; later he wed an Eliza Emley Windham. James Andrew died Jan. 4, 1888, Cartersville, S.C.He was the father (with his first wife) of Jessie and Josia and the father with his second
wife of Ollie Kolb Pouncey, Robert (or Rupert) Linwood Pouncey, Elizabeth Bell Pouncey Duke, and Ernest Fleetwood Pouncey. This info was loaned to me by Belle Pouncey, who lives in San Francisco. Her chart shows Elizabeth (Bessie) Pouncey was born Feb. 22, 1875 and married Henry Duke, who lived in Dallas. Their children are listed as Ruth, Mabel, and Henry Duke. Mabel Duke later lived in Dallas on Bowser Street and had a box office that sold tickets to opera, etc. You may contact me at jpouncey@dtcu.org, which is my wife's mailbox.
