Leroy Burns Pouncey was the second child of Claud B. Pouncey, who was city marshal of Americus, Ga., from 1918 to 1933. Claud was the first child of Samuel T. Pouncey, a farmer who was born and died in Tallapoosa Co., Ala., and had eight children. Samuel T. was the ninth child of Eli Thomas Pouncey, who was a farmer, father of 10, a justice of the peace, and a census taker (1850). Eli was murdered in 1855, and his slave was hung for the crime.
I would be happy to give you more info and would like to ask you about your father. Contact me at
