Rev Scipio Oliver Pouncey was born on April 10, 1902 in Scotland County to the late Scipio Oliver and Julian Pouncey. He Finished elementary school in Wgaram, NC and received his high school diploma from P. D. Institute, Hamlet NC. He attended Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina and two years in Theology. He pastored several churches in the Methodist denomination namely Fuquay Springs, Bethehem, Annanapolis and other. He went back to the Baptist churst and pastored Long Creek, St. John Baptist, Wilson at Ebenezer Baptist, First Baptist, Princeton, North Carolina and Dunne, North Carolina and others.

He was married to Bernice Haggins Pouncey Children: Marie P. married to Ralph Howell (daughter - Kimberly Howell)last known location Upper Marlboro, MD. One Brother: Gert Pouncey of Raleigh , NC Four Sisters: Mamie Poe of Durham, NC, Cora Monroe of Raleigh, NC, Nancy Johnson born about 1900 in Wagram, married to Daniel Johnson, died January 15,1993 Newport News, VA, and Julian Crawley Turner last know location Newport News, VA.
