Ross,
My Georgia cousin, Bill Pouncey of Monroe, has been e-mailing with a Christopher Pouncey of Dorset. Christopher has seen a hand-written genealogy of the Pounceys from that area--so fragile that it was brought out to him on a pillow, and he was allowed to photograph it but not to touch it. I believe I have an address for Christopher and will post it when I locate it. You may contact Bill at wpouncey@bellsouth.net. Both of us are extremely interested in the English Pounceys and in finding more info about a John Pouncey, born London circa 1600, who first appeared in Virginia records in 1632. Bill and I trace our lineage to "the first Anthony Pouncey," born circa 1710 in Virginia. All information about Pouncey history or collateral families is appreciated. You may contact me at tcpouncey@hotmail.com.
