I presume you have seen them in the 1851 census

HO107/2378 Folio 46 Page 4
Scruton Village
Ralph POUNDER H M 75 Retired Agricultural Labourer Kirby Hill
Isabella POUNDER W M 77 - Carlton
Elizabeth LONGTOFT GD U 18 At Home Scruton
Isabella LONGTOFT GD U 16 At Home Scuton

I had noted it down because my Grandmother was a POUNDER but her family were not from around there (as far as I know).

They originated in Middleton Tyas at the end of the 18th Century, then Kirkbymoorside, Stokesley before ending up in various places after 1840.

Though second thoughts, I see that Ralph was born Kirby Hill. There are several Pounders around Kirby Hill and Kirkby Ravensworth which is not far from Middleton Tyas but I have not found a connection between them and my family.
