Powis castle - links to Powis name

I have just come across this group having recently decided to start tracing my family roots.I thought it would be helpful to those of you in the US to give you some background on Powis Castle. It was built around 1200 and has been the home of the Herbert family since 1587.There is a connection with Clive of India whose son married the heiress to Powis Castle and with it became Earl of Powis,in 1807 changing his name from Clive to Herbert.Powis Castle is a great visitor attraction and is currently under the ownership of the National Trust. It is located in Welshpool in north Wales.
Hopefully when I get more advanced with my own research I will have something more tangible to add.
