I am a de Cherleton, Baron Powys descendant and I've been told that the Charltons are not the same line. This was from a thread some time ago on < >.

I would recommend a search of the list archives of GEN-MED for everyone associated with the Powys family and/or place. There are periodic discussion threads regarding these folks and their interesting lives and connections.
