Earl of Powys

Hello,

I was directed to this website to see if I could find information on the Earl of Powys. I came into possession a letter written by F Ludlow to Messrs Smith Wright & Co., Lombard Stret London. It is a free frank of Nov. 1769. I can only find scant information on the name Powys as it pertains to the Earls of Powys. Also, is the name spelled Powis, alternately? F. Ludlow would have been a statesman at this time, and I am assuming that Powys is located in Wales? If you have any information on F Ludlow, the Earl of Powys, I would appreciate it very much. Please post to my email address.

Thanks

Jim Bretz
