This is the obituary of my maternal grandmother, Elizabeth, wife of the late William Henry Powles whom she married in London, England in 1921. They came to Canada on a holidday in late 1922 and stayed. My grandfather was the son of Henry and Sarah Powles also of London (Henry was a salesman for Brown Brothers, a tool manufacturer) who lived at Mile End on or near the Roman Road. My grandad had three sisters, Maude, Minerva and Sarah (called Cissie) and at least three brothers, George (who also emigrated to Canada), Thomas and Daniel.
