Yes, Ralph Odgen Powless passed away fairly young. He was a lineman by profession, was in the Coast Guard. The only picture we have of him was from the National Archives entitled "Ralph Powless Climbs A Pole". The other pictures were destroyed in a fire. Ralph Owen Powless Sr was not very close to his uncles as they were so much older than him. He spoke some about Clarence Powless from Chicago, some about Cleo, and some about Grace Powless and husband Tim who lived in Kelso, WA. Yes, my husband and family are very much native...my husband is 1/4 Oneida and 1/16 Sioux. We also have a website at http://powlessfamily.tripod.com. We go to South Dakota frequently on vacation and love the Black Hills.
