Hi,
I live in Melbourne Australia. My family immigrated from India in about 1946-8. My father was Thomas James Pownall, he was in the Indian Police force in Madras. My mother was Marjorie Edith Louise (Hooper). Both died some time ago and I know not a lot about there ancestory. My mother's mother was Norma Hooper/Hopkins, she had sisters Dolly Hooper and Olga McDade (Hopkins). My father had a sister Beverley who was still living in India, possibly deceased now. I think my grandfathers name was Jack Pownall.
Can anyone help me with obtaining information on where these people originally came from.
