Yes, got your family back to 1764 in Errol, Perthshire. Your people were salmon fishers and became tacksmen...men who purchased the rights to fish portions of the Firth of Tay and sublet them to other fishermen. The fishermen lived in houses called bothies together...even if married..all a "batchinga" it together while their wives ran the house and cared for kids Brothers went toether to start a fisheries business in Dundee. They used the money they made to buy large estates and settled into farming, one near Rhynd, near Elcho Castle.
