Toni,

I see you have had a reply re your query . As you amy know know the area roundabout the castle , really only a fortified house , was called Easter & Wester Powrie . The owners -the Fotheringhams of pourie were the feudal lords .

As Mary says there are a number of books relating to Angus/Forfarshire which cover the history .
