I have Robert's discharge papers.. 7 of the 18 branches on Powries I have, all originate in Errol. My own great grandfather was born in 1814 in Ballendean, and I have an elderly relative still living there.

I just completed our WWI veterans and got all the photos of graves and memorials for both World wars.

I could appreciate your help with F. J. Powrie. What I have is from David in London.

I thought you might be interested to know that while doing some research on the Rhodesian police, I came across F. J. POWRIE, who was one of the early recruits to the British South Africa Company Police (recruit number 460, attested in the force in between Feb and April 1890), and pegged out a land claim near Angwa, in Sinoia District in Rhodesia (now Chinhoyi in Zimbabwe). He was in the Police 'D' Troop, and for many years the gold mine that operated on the land was known as D Troop Mine! I am sure you already know where F.J. Powrie fits in (is he one of Catherine Bruce Powrie's mob, I wonder?), but I thought you might like to have the additional info.

I owe your Mom and others a large debt. If you want anything I have you have but to ask.

Cuzin Mary
