the james who left for australia (born 1900) birth record below was born GROS Reference number Blairgowrie 335/0062

Alexander Powrie, Shepherd and his wife Lizzie Powrie, maiden surname Millar gave birth to a son they named James Powrie. He was born on the 5th of June, 1900 at 5.00 A.M. at Rosemount Farm, Blairgowrie. They were married on the 13th of December, 1895 at Eassie & Nevay. The information was proviced by A. Powrie, his father, as present.

If you look on scotlandspeople.gov/uk you can view the birth record. It cost 6 pounds but I can give you the reference number of any I have. My records are copyrighted, as I'm publishing a book on Powries. You may use it for research purposes, but not post it online.

I contacted Jim Powrie in Italy as he belongs to this branch, and would love to hear from you.

best of luck. There is a powrie reunion in Oz every Feb. If you are interested.

I have the line back to 1700,and making progress with that end. most of the branch were salmon fishermen or tacksmen, who sub-lent a portion of the tay system.

The family then merges with other branches.

Hoo Roo,

Cuzin Mary
