To check information for accuracy, I have checked with Owsley Historical Society. For research, the Housley-Bedwell Genealogy Connection is an excellent site:
I have also found alot of information from "Encyclopedia Britannica online"
Information on the Mormon Site is submitted by people who contribute their family genealogy. It makes the information only as accurate as the individual who did the research. There is no guarantee the information was obtained from documented records, certificates, etc.
I understand that Ronny Bodine, President of Owsley Historical Society, is currently writing a book that will contain all the ancestors of Dorothea Poyntz as far as can be traced. It is suppose to be published within two years. I am trying to be patient, waiting for it!
Meanwhile, it's so fascinating (we ARE talking Royalty here, so it's hard not to get excited) I have been researching this past year. The search has been tremendously interesting, for the lines of kings and queens go on and on. Yes, one line is the Frankish kings. Just to touch on some of the lines, includes:
King William I the Conquerer
Hugh Capet, King of France, first of a direct line of 14 Capetian Kings of France
Kings of Wessex - Kings of England
Kings of Spain
Holy Roman Emperor, Frederick I
Scottish Kings back to
King Kenneth MacAlpin, first King of the Scots (he united the Scots and Picts)
King Kenneth MacAlpin, was in turn the last of a long line of Irish Kings of Dalriada.
(I'm researching this at the present.)
